James Ethan Harper, age 19, of Morganton, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024.

James was born on August 20, 2005 to James Edward Harper Jr. and Sonya Harper in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger D. Mullinax Sr.; niece, Lily Faye; and aunt, Dana Mullinax.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, James Edward Harper Jr. (Shelly); mother, Sonya Harper (Chad); sisters, Kaitlyn Brook Guyton (Will), Taylor Brianne Munger (Greg), and Brittany Nicole Jennings (Steven); niece, Lydia Guyton; great- grandmother, Bonnie Hardin; grandparents, Susie Mullinax, James Edward Harper Sr., and Elizabeth Ruth Posey; nephews, William Guyton, Grayson Jennings, and Malachi Jennings; and fur-babies, Sunshine and Mister.

James was loved by many people in his life. He was an old soul who loved old movies and was a history buff. He enjoyed his motorcycle and loved wild flowers as well. James worked for J. Iverson Riddle where he cared for others. He loved his job and his coworkers, and they loved him as well. He also loved to travel and explore. James was a Mama's Boy. He loved to be with his mom. He also loved and cared for his cats, Sunshine and Mister. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
