Janeil Melton Jarrett, age 84, passed away on May 17, 2024.

Janeil was born on July 2, 1939 in Caldwell County to the late James Carrol and Mae Clark Melton.

In addition to her parents, Janeil is preceded in death by her brother, Barry Melton.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Clark McWhorter Jarrett; brother, James Terry Melton and wife Shaizuko; and grandchild, Zachary Clark Jarrett.

Janeil obtained a master's degree from the Univeristy of Georgia, and she spent her life helping abused children as a social worker. She was a loving mother and a special person who touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Janeil truly lived a compassionate life.

A celebration of life to honor the life of Janeil Jarrett will be held at a later date.
