Janet Marie Nicholls Maughan, age 86, of Lenoir passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her residence. She was born December 10, 1937 in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania to the late John Calvin Nicholls and Mabel Marie Lynn Nicholls. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Maughan; two daughters, Kimberly Karpinecz and Melanie Behanna; one brother, James Nicholls; and one son-in-law, James Karpinecz.

Mrs. Maughan was of the protestant faith.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Malinda Pearl Davis (Tom) of Lenoir, Gayelynn Brunsdon (Bernard) of Ohio, and Valerie Maughan of Lenoir; three brothers, David Nicholls of Florida, William Nicholls (Sally) of Pennsylvania, and Gary Nicholls (Helen) of Virginia; one sister-in-law, Sally Nicholls of Ohio; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
