Janice Lea Van Osdol, age 82, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was born September 1, 1942, in New Castle, Indiana, to the late Orville and Emma Leach Phelps.

Janice was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lenoir, North Carolina. She retired from Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute after 28 years of employment. Janice was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family more than anything.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Ronald Irvin Van Osdol; and brother, Johnie Wayne Phelps

Those left to cherish Janice's memory include her son, Todd Van Osdol and wife Kelly; two granddaughters, Annarae Janice Davis and husband Matthew, Emma Grace Van Osdol and fiancé Eric Maennle; two great-grandchildren, Adalynn Grace & Andrew Ryan Davis, all of North Carolina; sister, Alice Ann Tokoly and husband Michael; niece Lauren Boyle and husband Michael; brother-in-law, Kenneth Van Osdol and wife Patricia, and sister-in-law Shelby Jean Weber.

A graveside burial service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park, conducted by the Reverend Dave Melton, for family and friends.
