J. C. Price, age 96, of Lenoir passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at Amorem Hospice. He was born April 3, 1927 in Caldwell County to the late William W. Price and Cordie Byrd Price. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by five brothers, George Price, Frank Price, Hugh Price, John Price, and Tom Price; three sisters, Cloise Patterson, Elsie Patterson, and Thelma Dellinger; and two adopted siblings, Mary Ellen Reinhardt Beach and Clifford Reinhardt.

Mr. Price was a faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and a greeter. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WW2. After retirement he became a Representative for the Lutheran Digest traveling all over the United States.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Trilby Miller Price, of the home; two sons, Joe C. Price and wife Sandra of Lenoir and Jerrold C. Price of Raleigh; two daughters, Janice C. Hamby of Granite Falls and Judy C. Price of Hickory; six grandchildren, Jill Collins of Hickory, JoAnna Price of Hudson, Christopher Price of Lenoir, Tammy Burkhimer of Granite Falls, Shon Price of Raleigh, and Sonya Price of Lenoir; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Union Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Sam Craven. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church.
