JoAnn Goforth Hope, age 97, previously from Lenoir passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Trinity Ridge Nursing Home in Hickory, North Carolina. She was born January 30, 1927, in Ellenboro, North Carolina to the late Joseph A. Goforth and Belle Glover Goforth. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles L. "Charlie" Hope.

Mrs. Hope was a devoted educator for 35 years.  Prior to retirement, she taught at East Harper Elementary School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lenoir.

Those left to cherish her memory are close friends Bob and Susan Floyd, Tracie and Scott Martin, Drew and Zac, Bo and Brenda Floyd, Taylor, Sydney Elizabeth and Parker of Lenoir, Mike Cross and family of Chapel Hill, N.C , Ken and Pat Morgan of Shelby, N.C., Brandon and Gina Medlin of Huntersville, N.C., Cathy Brown of Hickory, N.C. and a host of dear friends and former students.

Many thanks to the staff at Trinity Ridge Nursing Home in Hickory, Carolina Caring Hospice of Newton N.C. and especially Geraldine's Care for the kindness and excellent care they showed JoAnn these last few years.
