Joe Douglas Walker, 86 of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 following a period of declining health.

Joe was born on June 27, 1937 in Caldwell County to the late Kenneth Walker and Pansy Watson Walker. Joe was a graduate of Lenoir High School and Appalachian State University. He was a former school teacher and coach in Caldwell County, and later in furniture management.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandchild, Ariane Lambert Angley; two sisters, Sylvia Walker Bryant and Katherine Walker Deal.

Those left to cherish his memory are his best friend and loving wife of more than 40 years, Carrol Teff Walker of the home; children, Kensy Walker Williams and husband Alvin, of Lenoir, Joey S. Walker and wife, Andrea, of Georgia, Kimberly Teff LeFevre and husband Marlon, of Granite Falls, and Robert Lambert, of Siler City; grandchildren, Naomi Walker and husband Matt, of Wisconsin, Rebekah Walker Febo and husband David, of Florida, Josiah Walker, of Tennessee, Amber Williams, of Lenoir, Megan Williams Kirby and husband Keaton, of Lenoir, and Olivia Grace Williams-Nicks, of Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Avian Williams, of Lenoir, Zamare Hendrix, of Lenoir, Olive and Ledger Kirby, of Lenoir, Malachi, Silas, Hadassah, and Daniel Wochinski, of Wisconsin, and Ari Nicks, of Charlotte; brother, Benny Walker and wife Clara, of Lenoir.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Living Hope Church (formerly Whitnel Pentecostal Church) located at 1890 Connelly Springs Rd, Lenoir, NC 28645 with Lead Pastor Keith Gilliam officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
