John Bryson Moser, age 88, of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born February 11, 1935 in Caldwell County to the late Frank Byron Moser and Mary Bryson Moser. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, James "Jim" Monroe Moser and Thomas "Tom" Moser; and three sisters, Mary Louise Chavis, Frankie "Bill" Moser Davis, and Betty Ruth Moser Benfield.

Mr. Moser was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church for 26 years. He was a member of Kings Creek Ruritan Club from 1981 to 2002 and he enjoyed working on clocks.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley "Buttercup" Walker Moser, of the home; one daughter Joyce Moser Crotts and husband Bryan of Lenoir; numerous nieces and nephews, and two grand-dogs, Alley and Maddi.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Angle officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Angle officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Woodie Chavis, Bryan Crotts, David Gragg, Josh Angle, and Kyle Prestwood.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 3383 Gaither Walker Circle, Lenoir, NC 28645.
