Mr. Johnnie Hal Hagaman, age 75, of Lenoir passed away at Caldwell UNC Healthcare on Saturday, March 7, 2026 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Caldwell County on April 14, 1950 to the late John Robert "Jack" Hagaman, Jr. and Alma Bolick Hagaman.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Kelly Matheson Hagaman and a brother in law, Leonard Clayton George.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Susan Gragg Hagaman; a son, Jon Christopher Hagaman; a grandson, Christian Tyler Hagaman (Bree Erwood); three sisters, Jackie George, Lorena Harris (husband Roger) and Tammy Bryant (husband Steve); his fur babies, Mikey and Grandbaby Sadie; he is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Hal was a member of Harper's Chapel Methodist Church.  He was once employed by his father at Hagaman Heating and then Broyhill Pacemaker before he retired due to a disability.  Hal graduated from the Lenoir High School Class of 1970.  He played football during his high school years.  He enjoyed being outside, especially fishing.

He was a true testament to dedication, strength and family devotion.

A memorial service celebrating Hal's life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Harper's Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 1360 Yadkin River Road, Lenoir, NC.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
