Johnnie Dale Rhames, age 70, of Lenoir, NC went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Johnnie was born on June 25, 1954 in Florence County, South Carolina to the late Johnnie Rhames and Lessie Mae Poston Rhames.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jewel Rhames; brother, Michael Rhames; and sister, Patricia Rhames.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, William Friesland and wife Summer and Shawn Friesland and wife April; daughter, Valerie Corley and husband Todd; grandchildren, Kendall Helton and husband Cameron, Lucas Corley, Johnathon Jordan, Hailey Friesland, and Hayden Friesland; and great-grandchild, Liam Helton; nephew, Keith Rhames; and great-niece, Yuni Rhames.

Johnnie loved to cook. He also loved his grandchildren very much. Johnnie served 18 years in the United States Navy, after which he worked many years at Broyhills Particle Board. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service to honor the life of Johnnie Rhames will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Griffin Family Cemetery in Happy Valley at 2:00PM with Reverend  officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amorem Hospice in Hudson.
