Mr. Joseph Roy Gragg, age 52, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 at his home.

Born August 19, 1973 in Caldwell County, Joseph was the son of Tony and Catherine Barlow Gragg.  Joe built a life rooted in family, friends and his work.  He was best known for his humor, steadiness, generosity and kindness.  His laugh was infectious and well known.  To those who knew him best, he was an incredible husband, brother, father, son, friend and coach.  Above all Joe cherished his family and close friends.  His love was felt in all the ways he took care of each and every one of his loved ones.  He had a rare gift for making those he loved feel completely seen, heard and valued.  His love and legacy will continue to shape the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.  He was preceded in death by two uncles, Charles Roy Barlow and David Wayne Barlow.

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his wife, Julie Howell Gragg; a son, Cooper Gragg; a daughter, Josie Gragg; a step-daughter, Maddie Lee; a twin brother, Jon Gragg (wife Heather); an older brother, Brett Gragg; a sister, Kim Correll; he is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, and other close relatives.

A celebration of Joseph's life will be held at a later date and will be announced by Greer-McElveen Funeral Home of Lenoir.
