Mr. Joseph Franklin Price, age 78 of Hudson passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Amorem Hospice in Hudson.

Born July 14, 1944 in Ashe County, Joseph was a son of the late Burl and Pearl Cornett Price.  Joseph was a retired fireman from the City of Lenoir.  He also served as a volunteer at the Hudson Fire Department.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Franklin Price, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Brenda Price; two sons, Darrin Price (wife Cindy) and Greg Price (wife Kim); a daughter, Paula Lopez; three brothers, Ned Price (wife Judy), Kenneth Price (wife Debbie) and Bryan Price (wife Sandy); five sisters, Mary Watson (husband Alvin), Mildred Ford, Linda Smith, Patsy Church (husband Larry) and Bernice Gragg (husband Larry); five grandchildren, Kody Price, Olivia Kay (husband Justin), Josh Price, Italia Lopez and Diego Lopez; a son in law, Jorge Lopez; he is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Wednesday, July 12 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Pastor Darren Peterson and Pastor Hubert Shew officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
