Joseph "Joe" Michael Stader, age 85, of Lenoir passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. He was born May 25, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Ray and Mary Joyce Stader.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Edie Chambers Stader; children, Michael Stader, Sue Kling (Floyd), and Tim Stader; stepchildren, Jennifer Miller (Brian) and Shelley Stachler; and grandchildren, Tara Locke, Joey Stader, Nick Stader, Eric Stader, Cole Miller, and Kate Miller.

A simple service to honor the life of Joe will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Josh Hughes. Interment will be held at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
