Joyce Marlowe Sides, age 91, of Lenoir passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at Shaire Center. She was born April 24, 1932 in Rutherford County to the late Lawrence Marlowe and Tennie Stines Marlowe. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, William "Bill" Sides and Richard Crouch; two brothers, Jack Marlowe and Doug Marlowe; three sisters, Louise Haney, Edith Goforth, and Faye Woody; and one grandson, Christopher William Tucker.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Terry Sides (Meagan) of Blowing Rock; one daughter, Tammy Nelson (Alex) of Lenoir; two brothers, Robert Marlowe (Susan) of Colorado, and Frank Marlowe (Faye) of Marion; two sisters, Jane Davis of Spindale, and Linda Padgett (Ronald) of Marion; four grandchildren, Erin Underwood, Ryan Sides, Colton Tucker, and Tanner Tucker; three step-grandchildren, Sheena Miller, Jeanna Hamby, and Alicia Soldat; two great-grandchildren, Emily Underwood and Allison Underwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
