Judy Gail Burress, age 78, of Lenoir, NC passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

Judy was born to the late Charles and Mary VanDyke in Richlands Virginia on March 5, 1945.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, J.D Burress.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Danny Burress; a grandson treasured as a son, Daniel Burress; daughter, Lisa Lail (Tim); brothers, Charles VanDyke and Mark Vandyke; sisters, Lynda Brewer and Beverly Sexton; grandchildren; Courtney Lail and Miranda Lail; great grandchildren Elijah Holden and Aidan Holden; and beloved fur baby, Coda.

Judy was one of the nicest people that anyone would ever meet. She was everybody's "Mamaw Judy", even if she just met them. She would do anything for anybody and loved feeding people. She treasured her family and her beloved fur baby.

A graveside service to honor the life of Judy Gail Burress will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11AM at Laytown Cemetery with Pastor Brent Dula officiating.

Pallbearers will include Thomas Rainey, Greg VanDyke, Josh Dillard, Caleb Crow, Caden Crow, and Bobby Sparks.

Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Darrell Dillard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Foothills Canine Rescue, formerly known as Pet Partners Rescue.
