Katherine Cornelia Dula Patterson, age 93, of Lenoir passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. She was born May 24, 1930 in Caldwell County to the late Gaither Dula and Mildred Johnson Dula. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie "Bill" Patterson; one daughter, Willa "Connie" Jenkins; one sister, Minnie Elizabeth Dula; six brothers, Vincent, Eugene, Jack, John, Jimmy and her twin, Sam Dula; and one great-grandchild, Sidney Sibblies.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Karen Patterson Foster and Mildred Patterson Dixon, both of Lenoir; two sons, Lemuel Patterson and Willie Patterson, Jr., both of Lenoir; one son-in-law, James Jenkins, Jr. and wife, Margo of Lenoir; two sisters-in-law, Irma Dula and Elizabeth Patterson, both of Lenoir; niece, Dr. Annette Dula and husband Dr. Mark Gross, of Boulder, Colorado; ten grandchildren, James Jenkins III (Cindy), Preston Foster, Jr. (Ashley), Connie Janelle Taylor (Chad), Katherine F. Sibblies (Andre), Rashaad Patterson (Kira), Willa Janene Baker (Tremaine), Kara F. Sanya (Stephen), Lauren Patterson, Megan D. Brinkmoeller (Ben), and Michelle Dixon; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Paul AME Church with Rev. Kim E. Moss officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the church.
