Kenneth Wayne McDonald (Ken), age 79, son of Vaughn Hyatt McDonald and Dorothy Sanders McDonald, gently left this world on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Ken was a loving father of two: Robert Vaughn McDonald and Robin McDonald Clark. He has 4 handsome grandsons: Garrett McDonald; Avery Clark; Anderson Clark; and Finley McDonald.

He is preceded in death not only by his parents, but by his sister, Sandra Smith. He is survived by his sister, Priscilla Crotts, and brother, Gene McDonald.

Ken graduated from Hudson High School in 1964. He served honorably in the NC Army National Guard from 1964 to 1968. Ken held many jobs, retiring as a printer from Avery Dennison, but loved working most for Bob Keen's Auto Body Shop and Keen's Towing. At those jobs, he got the chance to travel and to make lifelong friends who have become like family.

In addition to spending time with his family, Ken avidly collected coins of all types; Nascar race memorabilia; and coffee cups.

The family will have a celebration of life in remembrance of Ken during a private ceremony at Easter.
