Lane Hamby, age 70, of Lenoir passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at his residence. He was born September 16, 1954 in Caldwell County to the late Sylvester Hamby and Novella West Hamby. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Patty Sue Garner Hamby; infant son, Jason Lane Hamby; and one brother, Michael Jones Hamby.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Michael Hamby (Jessica) of Denton, NC; one daughter, Elana Hamby (Dakota) of Thomasville, NC; two brothers, Jeff Hamby (Jeannie) and Curtis Hamby, all of Lenoir; one sister, Janet Grant (Mark) of Lenoir; two grandchildren, Marley and Olivia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Hamby officiating.  Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Noah Hamby, Jonathan Hamby, Greg Elrod, Wayne West, Chris Mast and Jordan Grant.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
