Lannie Ross Dillard, 77 of Lenoir went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 6, 2023 following a period of declining health.

Lannie was born on March 28, 1946 in Ashe County to the late Conley Edgar Dillard and Doris Ruth Storie. Lannie loved his family, fishing, gardening and enjoyed feeding the squirrels around his home. He often liked to reminisce and tell stories of his children and grandchildren in their early life. Lannie was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lenoir, which he loved very much and served as an Usher during Sunday service.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two children, David Ross Dillard and Cathy Sue Dillard; brother, Danny Harold Dillard; granddaughter, Kayla Marie Dillard; and son in-law, Richard Lee Blankenship.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Maggie Knight Dillard; son, Lannie Darrell Dillard and spouse Maxine; daughters, Karen Blankenship, and Ruby Miller and spouse Ricky; siblings, Connie, James, Roger, Judy, Gary, John and Joey; grandchildren; Ginger and Troy, Ashley and Josh, Cinnamon and Adam, Heather and Victoria, and Landon and Sally; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Tyler, Connor, Abel, Eli, Reese, and Maxton.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Lenoir with Pastor Dewey Bristol officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the church.
