Larry David Richards, age 78, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away in his home on September 20, 2023. He was born to the late Charlie and Lena Richards on February 7, 1945.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brothers; Melvin Richards and Edward Richards; and sisters, Linda Walker and Verna Mae Moore.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Maggie Richards; daughter, Tammy O'Keefe and husband Bob; step-sons, Michael Johnson and wife Joi and Ernest Johnson Jr; step-daughter, Janice Johnson; brother, Bruce Richards and wife Mitzi; sister, Sandra Beane and husband Gaither; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Larry was a Deacon at The Real Church on Connelly Springs Road for 4 years. He loved his family very much. He treated everyone the same, blood or not. He will be remembered for his pranks, jokes, and the way he cut up. He was the CEO of the Lenoir Downtown Cruisers for 10 years, and he loved Nascar as well as classic cars.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday 23, 2023 at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00PM officiated by Reverend Scott Philyaw. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00PM-2:00PM prior to the service.
