Leigh Brittain Burnette, age 78, of Lenoir passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Amorem Hospice. She was born June 22, 1947 in Buncombe County to the late Eleanor Simpson Brittain. In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by one brother, Michael Brittain.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband, Jerry Wayne Burnette; one daughter, Kimberly Burnette Craig (Travis); one sister, Virginia Brittain; two grandchildren, Cassie Clemons (Rev. Brandon Clemons), and Alex Craig (Tori); and two great-grandchildren, Nora Clemons and Titus Craig, and one on the way.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Hill Cemetery of Morganton, with Rev. Brandon Clemons officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Craig, John Welsh, Skylar Walker, Vernon Yount, Norman Bowman, and Jerry Greene.
