Linda Cooke Lewis, age 85, of Hudson passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 at her residence. She was born June 28, 1939 in Caldwell County to the late Julius Coy Cooke and Ethel Davis Cooke. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Lewis; and one brother, Jim Cooke.

Mrs. Lewis retired from Kings Creek Elementary School after 30 years and was a member of Lenoir Community Church. After retirement she was a dedicated volunteer for Caldwell County Hospice for 10 years. She was deeply loved by her family, friends, and former students.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, James "Douglas" Laney (Kathy) of Morganton; one daughter, Laura Laney Gentry (Richard) of Granite Falls; eight beloved grandchildren, Sarah Wenzel King (Adam), Rachel Laney, Rebecca Laney, Brittnee Gentry, Sara-Lindsay Gentry, Matthew Laney, C.J. Laney, and Stacey Gentry; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Luna.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Greene officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
