Linda Lou Phillips Russell, age 75, of Lenoir, NC passed away on August 27, 2023.

Linda was born to the late James Glenn Phillips and Ruth Brown Phillips in Watauga County, NC on May 28, 1948.

In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Carlton; brothers, Buddy Franklin and Joe Phillips; and sister, Martha Byerly.

Those left to cherish Linda's memory include her daughter, Regina Russell; sister-in-law, Linda Phillips; sisters, Debbie Hicks (Claude) and Teresa Pilkenton (Doug); grandchildren, Joshua Torres (Lyric Killian) and Martha "Christy" Russell; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will include Claude Hicks, Doug Pilkenton, Reed Flierl, Joshua Torres, Mark Coleman, Connor, and Rob Byerly.

Linda was an avid gardener who loved her flowers. Linda was very close with her daughter and her sisters. She loved her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a strong, independent woman who always did for herself.

A funeral service to honor the life of Linda Russell will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11:00am at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Harris officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 10:00am until 11:00am at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel.
