Linda Jo Watson Helton, age 78, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Linda was born on May 6, 1947 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to Willard and Leah Watson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bill Helton; brothers, Paul Watson, Raymond Watson, and Bill Watson; and sisters, Gladys Taylor, Shirley Kirby, and Inez Andrews.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Tony Helton (Christine) and T.J. Helton (Rose); daughter, Becky Morgan (Rodger); and grandchildren, Jacob Helton, Aaron Helton, Bobby Short, and Brian Short.

Linda was a long time member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. She was a foster parent, and loved children as well as animals. She loved her grandchildren especially. Linda enjoyed shopping, reading, and crocheting. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service to honor the life of Linda Helton will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 2:00PM at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sonny Younce officiating.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery.
