Obituary

Mr. Lloyd Eugene Nichols, age 85, of Lenoir passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024.

Lloyd was born on November 3, 1938 to the late Lloyd L. and Mazie Powell Nichols in Burke County, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Joel Paeton Nichols.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, JoAnn Storie Nichols of Lenoir; sons, Lloyd Eugene "Buddy" Nichols II and Shannon William Nichols of Lenoir; daughter, Adonya Lee Powell of Lenoir; brother, Carl Leonard "Punch" Nichols of Morganton; grandchildren, Megan Leigh Nichols, Matthew Paeton Nichols, Taylor Nichols Fristoe (James), Grayson William Nichols, and Mazie Raye Wakefield; 6 great-grandchildren; nephew, Carl Douglas Nichols (Penny) as well as numerous other loved ones.

Lloyd loved to trade and barter. He was an avid church goer at Pisgah Baptist Church. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. Lloyd also loved spending time at Johnny West Towing. He will be missed by many.

A graveside service to honor the memory of Mr. Lloyd Eugene Nichols will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 12:00pm with Pastor Cody Shew officiating. Military Funeral Honors will be presented by the United States Air Force and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Pisgah Baptist Church.
