Obituary

Luke Aaron Pannenbacker, age 33, of Hudson passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at his residence. He was born December 2, 1991 in Catawba County to Lauri Houck Stilwell and the late Roy C. Pannenbacker. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ann Houck and Estelle Pannenbacker.

Luke enjoyed working with the nutrition team at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton. He also spent time working in the golf industry and thoroughly loved the game. His favorite time was spent playing golf with his brother, Ben while heckling stepfather, Darren. Luke was an avid sports fan, including his beloved Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, and Duke Blue Devils. Another pastime was reciting movie lines that he'd enjoyed watching with friends and family. Luke never met a stranger, evident by the numerous friends who loved him. Luke's love for his family was unmistakable at family events, expressed by his thoughtful gifts, attending sporting events for his nephews, adoring time with his niece, an simply being a great son, brother, nephew, and grandson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother and stepfather, Lauri Houck Stilwell and Darren Stilwell; brother, Ben Pannenbacker (Maggie); nephews, Liam Pannenbacker and Owen Conner; niece, Ellis Pannenbacker; stepbrothers, Stefon DeSantis (Ashley) and Christian Diamond (Joe); stepsister, Allie Stilwell; grandfathers, Larry B. Houck and Roy W. Pannenbacker (Eleanor); aunt, Dawn Jonke (Jimmy); uncles, Carey Houck (Julie) and David Pannenbacker (Christine); ten beloved first cousins, and extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Duke officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Interment at Blue Ridge Memorial Park following the service.
