Luther Kyle Toliver, age 87, of Granite Falls passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Amorem Hospice. He was born September 11, 1937 in Ashe County to the late Ray Toliver and Bina Grogan Toliver. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeannette Lawrence Toliver; and one sister, Martha T. Shell.

Mr. Toliver was a faithful member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. Prior to retirement he was a truck driver for Broyhill Furniture for 36 years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Patricia Brookshire Coffey Toliver of the home; one son, Marty Toliver and wife Lorie of Lenoir; one daughter, Leslie Wilson and husband Randy of Lenoir; one brother, Dennis Toliver and wife Sue of Lenoir; two sisters, Ruby Knotts of Maryland and Myrtle Livingston and husband Scott of Lenoir; three grandchildren, Drew Shell and wife Kim, Travis Toliver and wife Nikita, and Kelsey Watts and husband Andy; and five great-grandchildren, Parker, Liam, Drake, Lincoln, and baby Rowan on the way.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Waitsel Beard and Rev. Jack Lewis officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Laurel Haven Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and Caldwell County Veteran Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Drew Shell, Ricky Earp, Robert Earp, Gavin McCloud, Grant Strader, and Chris Lackey.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
