Mabel Tolbert McLean (March 16, 1942 - October 20, 2024)

Mabel Tolbert McLean, age 82, of Lenoir, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, after a long illness.

Mabel was born on March 16, 1942, to Bob and Edna Harmon Tolbert in Watauga County, North Carolina. She was a lifelong member of Bailey's Camp Baptist Church where she played the piano for over 60 years. She worked as a teller in Blowing Rock for many years and retired from Wells Fargo Bank.

Mabel is preceded in death by her husband, Reece McLean; her father, Bob Tolbert; her brother, Roger Tolbert, and her sister, Linda Ford.

Mabel is survived by her mother, Edna Tolbert (age 101); her son, Walter McLean and wife, Lou; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister-in-law Jane McLean Harmon and husband, Don; sister-in-law Virginia Tolbert; brother-in-law Gene Ford; and several nieces and nephews.

The family respects Mabel's wishes to hold a private service at a later time.
