Marie Greene Wright, age 81, of Valdese passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at her residence. She was born January 2, 1942 in Watauga County to the late Roy and Virlea Greene. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie Clifford Greene, Michael Dean Greene, and Edward Eugene Greene; and sister, Sandra Greene Arney.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 48 years, Jerry Dale Wright, of the home; one son, Chris Burleson and wife Malinda of Nebo; two daughters, Lisa Absher and husband James, and Annette Burleson; two brothers, Gary Greene and Keith Greene; two sisters, Brenda Greene and Evelyn Crabtree; and numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Floyd Vines.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
