Obituary

Marilyn Collins Gragg, age 86, of Collettsville, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Marilyn was born on November 24, 1939 in Swain County, North Carolina to the late Marvin and Josephine Collins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Milton Gragg; brother, Richard Collins; and sisters-in-law, Lynn Gragg and Martha Collins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 63 years, Larry Gragg; sons, Joey Gragg (Wendy) and Rick Crump (Kelly); daughter, Kim Crump (Janie Patton); brother, Terry Collins (Cindy); sister, Linda Hamby (Gwyn); 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; long time caregiver, Kimmie Ham; and numerous family, friends, and other loved ones.

Marilyn was a long time member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Collettsville, NC. She had a servant’s heart, and she was deeply loved by everyone who knew her. She was a giving person, and will be remembered as someone who would always go the extra mile for someone in need. Marilyn was a talented and caring person. She was also an incredibly talented artist and had a passion for teaching others.

The family requests that those who attend wear something pink in honor of Marilyn, as it was her favorite color.

A funeral service to honor the life of Marilyn Gragg will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 2:00PM at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Greer officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home.

Burial will immediately follow the service at Gragg Cemetery in the Globe.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Crump, Jordan Gragg, Dylan Gragg, Caleb Gragg, Ethan Crump, and Dalton Crump. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Lynn Brown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amorem Hospice in Lenoir, NC.
