Marilyn Ann Gregory Hedgecock, age 71, of Granite Falls passed away Thursday, June 23, 2023 at UNC Blue Ridge after a brief illness. She was born November 21, 1951 in Iredell County to the late Charlie and Alene Galliher Gregory.

Marilyn was a graduate of North Iredell High School as well as Catawba Valley Technical Institute with an Associates Degree in General Office Technology. She worked at Southern Screw Company in Statesville for over 10 years. She enjoyed canning vegetables and won several blue ribbons at the Davie County State Fair. She loved to find bargains and put together special "Santa Bags" for her nieces a, brother and sister-in-law, and others for many years, and will be remembered for her famous coconut cakes. She was truly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 37 years, Rev. Steve Hedgecock, of the home; aunts, Ettalou Weatherman, Lavonne Galliher, and Carrie Gregory; brother-in-law, David Hedgecock and wife Martha Crank; and numerous nieces and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Whitnel First Baptist Church with Rev. Stuart White and Rev. William Wease officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Society Baptist Church Cemetery, 879 Garden Valley Road, Statesville, NC 28625.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the church.
