Marshall Herbert Blevins, age 90, of Lenoir passed away Friday, September 4, 2026 at his residence. He was born January 1, 1936 in Washington County, VA to the late Aras Benton Blevins and Clemmie Juanita Severt Blevins. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Keller Blevins; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Blevins; brothers, Mitchell Blevins, Elmer Blevins, and Doug Blevins; sisters, Shirley Morgan, and infant Cathy Blevins.

Mr. Blevins was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne, serving in Germany and Panama.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, LaMarr Blevins; one daughter, LaVenta “Sam” Umek (Iztok); one brother, Otis Blevins; three sisters, Judy Morgan, Debbie Miller (Jimmy), and Norma Gilmer (Jim); five grandchildren, Brand Blevins (Kayla), Heather Beaver (Alan), Lauren Keyes (Vince), Kendra Lanning Umek, and Lana Umek; four great-grandchildren, Izabelle Blevins, Ryker Blevins, Leah Lanning, and Zayden Lanning; five honorary grandchildren and four honorary great-grandchildren from countries abroad; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jobie Borders and Rev. Ron Burgett officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Zack’s Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brand Blevins, Ryker Blevins, Alan Beaver, Mark Stallings, Bobby Whisenant, and Mitch Foust.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Amorem Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir NC 28645.
