Marshall Wayne Townsend, age 66, of Lenoir passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born April 20, 1958 in Scott County, Virginia to the late Virgil J. Townsend and Mary Etta Frazier Townsend.

In addition to her parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Ruth Coffey.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Haley Bridges; six brothers, Rocky Townsend, Mike Townsend (Annie), Henry Townsend, Monroe Townsend, James Townsend (Carolyn), and Carson Townsend; four sisters, Omie Adams, Lesia Spears, Polly Townsend, Unia Jones (Jim); two grandchildren, Calandra Icard and Hazley Bridges; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
