Mrs. Martha Frances Brown Gilliland Hartley, age 82, of Hudson passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at her daughter's home.

Born February 9, 1941 in Burke County, Martha was a daughter of the late Delkie and Sally Kaylor Brown.  Martha was Lutheran by faith.  She loved traveling and spending time in the mountains.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Larry John Gilliland Sr. and R.H. Hartley; Two children, Larry John Gilliland Jr. and Dana Denise Gilliland; Siblings, Florance Lowman and Clifford Brown; Grandson, Brandon Porter.

She is survived by three daughters, Myronia Greene (partner Randy Justice), Lisa Leaming (husband Bill) and Michelle Hartley; Three sons, Derrick Gilliland, Danny Hartley (wife Lori) and Joey Hartley (husband Tony); A brother, Roger Brown; A sister, Margie Ingle (husband Robert); Three grandchildren, Brandy Link (husband John), Kasey Taylor and Mikalea Taylor; A great grandchild, Huck Taylor; She is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A memorial service celebrating Martha's life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Greer-McElveen Funeral Home with Reverend Dan Duke officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
