Martha Naomi Chandler Martin, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 in Valdese, North Carolina.

She was born on July 16, 1935 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to the late Spencer “Doc” and Minnie Sumpter Chandler.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Martin; brothers, Wayne Chandler, Larry Chandler, Bill Chandler, Jay Chandler, and Shorty Clarence Chandler; and sisters, Ruby Murphy, Mary Williams, and Shirley Powell.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rita McRary and husband Jody; brother, Dennis Chandler; grandchildren, Jessica King and Amanda Kemp; great-grandchildren, Bella Mitchum, Penelope Kemp, and Kinsley King; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

No services will be held at this time.
