Mary Katherine Sigmon Barnes, age 76, passed away on February 8, 2024 in Catawba County, NC.

Mary was born on November 9, 1947 to the late Marshall Eugene Sigmon and Betty Jewell Sigmon in Catawba County, NC.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters; Lynn Baker and boyfriend David, Cheryl Gailes and husband Johnnie, and Charlene McClamrock and husband Adam; sisters, Donna Dantzler and husband Allen and Marsha Benfield and husband Barry; and grandchildren, Aaron Reid, Emma Reid, Olivia Reid, Katherine McClamrock, and Levi McClamrock.

Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very crafty and often did crafts with her church family. She was a lifelong member at Penelope Baptist Church. She loved her sweet tea. Mary was quick witted and very intelligent. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mary Katherine Sigmon Barnes will be held at a later date.
