Mary Kathleen Everhart Hodge, age 88, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at Amorem Hospice. She was born April 17, 1936 in Caldwell County to the late Claude Everhart and Effie Lee Setzer Everhart. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Larry Moore; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Debra Houston (Vance) of Spruce Pine, Vickie Holsclaw of Spruce Pine, James Hodge (Angela) of Hudson; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Everhart and Buddy Everhart, both of Hickory; and one sister, Beatrice Speagle.

Mary's cherished grandchildren knew her lovingly as Granny Mary or Nana Mary. She was a resident of Koinoia Apartment Community for 14 years where she had many friends she called family. Mary was an avid lover of fishing where she was happiest on any lake or river.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
