Mary Helen "Merry" Gordon, age 76, of Lenoir, NC entered her heavenly home on June 22, 2024 at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation in Boone, NC.

Mary was born February 25, 1948 in Buncombe County. She was the daughter of Rev. Albert  F. and Helen Hensley Gordon of Asheville, NC, who preceded her in death.

Mary is survived by her sister, Patricia L. Gordon; brother and sister- in- law, Revs. Frank and Mary Gordon; nieces, Hannah Gordon Randall and Sarah Gordon Mack and their families; and special friends in her life.

Mary worked previously as a school teacher, church secretary, a book editor and at the Biltmore House as an assistant curator. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, outdoors, fostering cats and dogs, reading and praise music. She worshiped at Lenoir First Wesleyan Church.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held for Mary at Lenoir First Wesleyan Church on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. James Baker officiating.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lenoir First Wesleyan Church P.O. Box 631, Lenoir, NC 28645.

Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville, NC at a later time.
