Matthew William Whitt, age 49, of Granite Falls passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born October 27, 1975 in Caldwell County to Dianne Chester Whitt and the late William Wade Whitt, Jr.

Those left surviving include his mother, Dianne Chester Whitt; three children, Morgan Ashley and fiancé Bradley, Jacob Whitt and Grayson Whitt; four brothers, Daniel Whitt and wife Ashley, Adam Whitt, Paul Whitt, and John Whitt and wife Kayla; one beloved granddaughter, Penelope; his partner, Laura Willard; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Memorial services will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Church officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to North Carolina Wildlife Commission, 1751 Varsity Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606.
