Maurice Grady Barlowe, age 87, of Lenoir passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026 at his home. He was born August 1, 1939 in Caldwell County to the late Grady A. Barlowe and Ruth Tuttle Barlowe. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Ruth Curtis.

Mr. Barlowe was a proud veteran of the U.S. National Guard, serving for nine years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carolyn Wike Barlowe of the home; one son, Christopher M. Barlowe (Wendy) of Lenoir; one daughter, Heather Barlowe Isenhour of Hickory; one brother, Robert L. Barlowe of Lenoir; one nephew, Greg Barlowe of Lenoir; one niece, Jana Curtis of Lenoir; seven grandchildren, Carter Isenhour, Devan Barlowe, Lindsay Meadlock, Carolyn Isenhour, Emily Barlowe, Maci Isenhour, and Cody H. Barlowe; and one great-granddaughter, Andi Lynn Meadlock.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 23, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Church and Rev. Greg Barlowe officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
