Mavis Vines Staton, age 76, of Lenoir passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. She was born March 19, 1950 in Caldwell County to the late Walter Vines and Myrtle Chandler Vines. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters, Reba Greene and Sandy Vines; one sister-in-law, Janice Vines; and two brothers-in-law, Fred Greene and Gene Greene.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Leonard D. Staton of the home; one brother, Ted Vines of Lenoir; two sisters, Mildred Greene and Mabel Jenkins and husband John all of Lenoir; sister-in-law, Faye Staton Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
