Max Lavon Cavin, age 87, of Lenoir went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 15, 2023 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1935 in Wilkes County to the late Willie F. "Bill" Cavin and Winnie Bishop Cavin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Alma; one brother, Hoyte E. Cavin; and two sisters, Archie McNeil and Barbara Williams.

Mr. Cavin was employed for many years at Fairfield Furniture Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid gardener, and loved being with his cats. He will be remembered for all the laughter, love, and memories he passed on to his family. Max was dearly loved and will be missed deeply.

Those left to cherish his memory include one brother, Tommie Joe Cavin and wife Nina Hawkins Cavin of St. Leonard, MD; one sister, Linda Mae Melton of Hudson, NC; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
