Melodie Ann Rector Mathes, age 79, was healed and entered into the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 25, 2025. She was born September 22, 1946 in Caldwell County to the late Craig B. Rector and Mary Lee Capps Rector.

Melodie worked for the Bank of Granite as an Investor Relations Officer for 44 years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Nickey H. Mathes of the home; one son, Cory N. Mathes (Nikki) of Raleigh; one daughter, Amy Wimbish (Carey Wimbish, Jr.) of Granite Falls; and four beloved grandchildren, Hunter Mathes, Keller Mathes, Abram Lefler, and Zoey Wimbish.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Collier's United Methodist Church with Pastor Ann Gibert officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
