Michael Anthony Jennings, age 67, of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at his residence. He was born February 6, 1957 in Lyon County, Kentucky to the late Treasure Jennings Whisnant. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Whisnant.

Mr. Jennings was an avid sports fan especially the Carolina Tarheels. He never met a stranger and never made an enemy. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, and his determination to rise above all obstacles he faced in life.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 10 years, Rebecca Raby of the home; one daughter, Rebecca Jennings (Cheston Hodge); one brother, Roger Whisnant; one sister, April Whisnant (David Gragg); three grandchildren, Kaylee Hodge, Kelsey Hodge, and Kinsley Hodge; two step-children, Daniel Craig and Ryan Douglas (Andreas); four step-grandchildren, Abby Craig, Elizabeth Craig, Danielle Craig, and Ivy Craig; and his beloved cat, Mr. Whiskers.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Wildwood Advent Christian Church with Rev. Allen Raby officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Caldwell County Animal Care, 180 Government Way, Lenoir, NC 28645; and Fresenius Kidney Care Lenoir, 1208 Hickory Blvd, Lenoir, NC 28645.
