Mr. Michael Wayne Smith, age 67 of Hudson passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at his home.

Born October 8, 1955 in Caldwell County, Michael was a son of the late Darwin and Lovelle Eldridge Smith.  Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  He was a member of Indian Hill Baptist Church.  He loved his church family.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Shook Smith, of the home; son, Chris Smith; a daughter, Casey Mendoza; a brother, Donnie Smith (wife Sarah); a special nephew, Cory Smith; two grandchildren, Kaylee Mendoza and Michael Inman; a great grandchild, River; he is also survived by numerous other relatives.

A memorial service celebrating Michael's life will be held at Greer- McElveen Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. with burial to follow at Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Marines and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
