Monica Cheek Effler, 61, of Hudson, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on August 15th 2026.

She began her life journey on January 26th 1965, born to her late mother and father Louise Snyder and Shirrell Cheek of Caldwell County, North Carolina.

Monica was a beautiful free-spirtited woman. She enjoyed music, reading, being by the lake or thrift shopping, ABOVE all else she loved spending time with her children, her family, and her friends. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all.

Monica was preceded in death by her mother and father, her life companion, Eddie Russ, her two brother in laws, Larry Messer and Jeffery Effler and her best friend, Michelle Hobbs.

Monica is survived by her daughter, Caroline Effler and Partner Jalon Walker and her grandson, Myles Bradshaw. Her son, Tyler Effler and Wife Bayleigh Effler and her granddaughters, Cassady Effler and Preslee Effler, two loving sisters, Sharon Messer and Cathy Riddle as well as her aunt, Linda London, long time friends and Scott Effler, Lisa Parlier, and her best friends, Nancy McGuire and Cindy Galowania.

The Family will be hosting a private ceremony to honor and celebrate her life.
