Nancy Church Moore, age 83, of Lenoir, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 25, 1943, in Caldwell County to the late Dorsey Devaughn (D.D.) Suddreth and Stella Rader Suddreth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 51 years and the father of her children, Odell McCoy Church; her beloved second husband, Freddie Hudson Moore; her brother, Bobby Devaughn Suddreth; and her sister, Janet Suddreth Branch.

Nancy, a faithful and humble servant of the Lord, was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir and had previously been a longtime member of College Avenue Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Caldwell County and graduated from Lenoir High School in 1961.

She spent many years as a devoted homemaker and later worked as a teacher's assistant at Kings Creek Elementary. She also worked alongside her husband, Odell, at their business, Mt. Hermon Superette, for many years. After Odell's passing, Nancy learned that the golden years could be just as sweet as she traveled with her husband, Freddie, on numerous adventures to Europe, Mackinac Island, on RV trips, to visit grandchildren, and to Sunset Beach, where they spent many wonderful times together.

Nancy was a talented seamstress and an avid gardener, but most importantly, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, affectionately known as "Nana." She loved nothing more than having all of her family together, and they loved nothing more than being with her. She was funny, kind, determined, and always optimistic.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Elizabeth Young Church and husband, Brinkley, of Mt. Airy, and Jana Church Wike and husband, Greg, of Lenoir; her son, David Odell Church and wife, Kay, of Lenoir; two sisters, Joann Suddreth Cresson of Waco, Texas, and Gail Suddreth Dudley of Lenoir; six granddaughters, Emily Wike Hardy (Heyward), Kasey Church, Mary Beth Young (Zach), Macy Church, Elizabeth Church Morrison (Nathan), and Caroline Church Lozowski (John); two grandsons, Alex Young (Ashley) and Adam Wike (Narelle); and four great-granddaughters, Emma Young, Lucy Young, Mayer Martin-Wike, and Elaine Morrison. She was also loved by her stepdaughters, Deborah Moore Clark (Greg) and Julie Moore Smith (Darin), and step-grandchildren, Brittany, Lauren, and Katie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Lenoir at 2 P.M. with Rev. Josh Hughes officiating. Graveside services will be private.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service at 1 P.M.
