Obituary

Nolan Delano Lovins, age 88, of Lenoir passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born October 10, 1934 in Caldwell County to the late Frank Dallas Lovins and Mary Elizabeth Winkler Lovins. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four sisters, Edith Lovins Correll, Rosa L. Putman, Sharon Goble, and Vera Sullivan; and one half-brother, Rhon Winkler.

Mr. Lovins was a graduate of Lenoir High School Class of 1953 and a proud graduate of UNC Chapel Hill Class of 1957 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree. He worked many years as a CPA/Partner for J.A. Grissette & Co. as well as Coffey Lovins & Co. which he retired. He will be remembered for the unwavering love he had for his family, friends, and the Carolina Tar Heels.

Those left to cherish his memory include one brother, Marvin D. Lovins and wife Sarah of Lenoir; two nephews, Jeff Putman and wife Natalie, and Greg Lovins and wife Claudine; and two nieces, Cynthia Epley and husband Randy, and Lisa Abernathy and husband Chris.

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Mr. Lovins will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor David Smith.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
