Norma Juanita Waters Wilson, age 86, of Lenoir passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at her residence after a courageous three-year battle with heart disease. She was born February 19, 1940 in Caldwell County to the late Lawrence and Martha Melinda Self Waters. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Mark Wilson, Jr.; one brother, Floyd Waters; and one niece, Sarah Briana Waters.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church and was strong in her faith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mark Wilson (Carrie); one daughter, Deborah Henson (Bob); one brother, Gary Waters (Portia); four beloved grandchildren, Cyrus Henson (Reagan), Sophia Wilson, Henry Wilson (Angelica); and James Wilson; sister-in-law, Mary Waters; two nieces, Meredith Waters and Gina Craig (Jerry); and one nephew, Rev. Nicky Waters (Traci).

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Belleview Cemetery with Rev. Nicky Waters officiating.

Following the graveside, a memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wilson will be held at College Avenue Baptist Church at 12:15 P.M. with Rev. Nicky Waters officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to College Avenue Baptist Church, Attn: Backpack Ministries or Second Century Fund, 1201 College Avenue SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.

The family would like to sincerely thank Mrs. Wilson's beloved church family of College Avenue Baptist Church for the love, support, and friendship provided to Mrs. Wilson during her battle with heart disease; and also the amazing medical team of Union Memorial in Baltimore for the exceptional care provided.
