Ora David Newman's Obituary
Ora David Newman, age 53, of Slope Terrace, Lenoir, died Sunday, January 5, 2014. He was born August 8, 1960 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Ora Daniel and Leatrice "Sue" Carter Newman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Wayne Newman. Mr. Newman was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Curtis Newman of the home; one son, Jordan Newman and fiancée Tasha Moretz of Lenoir; one daughter, Jessica Coffey and husband Timothy of Patterson; two brothers, Danny Earl Newman of Lenoir and Bobby Newman and wife Cindy of Hudson; sister-in-law, Liz Walker of Collettsville; and three grandchildren, Kimberly Newman, C.J. Knopes and Leatrice Coffey. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir conducted by Rev. Dewey Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Liberty Baptist Church, 213 Hazel Lee St., Lenoir, N.C. 28645. Online condolences may be left at www.greer-mcelveenfuneralhome.com.
